One full day of haramkhoree-Hallelujah!
Just when I thought there's no escaping the treacherous, full 5 days working, week ahead...lo and behold!..opportunity, not just walks in the door but dances all the way into my lap!
I've spent the entire day dodging work, avoiding calls, not answering mails and taking extended lunch breaks. Don't ask me how I managed this feat, you might just jinx it for me!!
Not that I'm the perpetual haraamkhor of the office but sometimes, just sometimes, there's this craving to NOT do things for a change and I'm glad I got to NOT do anything today. Sort of a cleansing that your system requires after too much slogging and mind numbing work.
Although, some might argue that after 2 weeks of sun, sand&sea=holiday, I cant really complain about slogging but then, what the heck, think of this as a much needed closure, before i throw myself into work again.
As if!!! :)

Closet blogger-datz me
So there happens to be a Delhi Bloggers Meet on Saturday, 2nd Sept and I was discussing with a friend, possibilities of attending one, my very first, but what ensued was a brief dialogue on whether we even qualify as bloggers considering the fact that our posts are few and far between.
To heck with it! I'll blog when I want, how I want, about what I want and that's just it!
The way I look at it, like with everything else, blogging too, has it's phases- from immediate addiction to passive interest to hardly or no interest. Having come out of them with reasonable success I guess am on my path to redemption and nirvana shall follow.
Capiche??
Blog 2.0
Welcome to the new and improved, version 2.0 of my blog, primary reason for this being that the url of my previous blog was just not working out. Hopefully this would not be too difficult for my spaced out, memory capsule consuming friends.
On a more superstitious level, i think this new new thing might just motivate me to post frequently or rather consistently.
A lot has happened that IS worth posting but since most posts happen from my 3X3 cubicle in office, with curious stares from everyone around, especially coz they have already decided that I don't actually do any work (suckers! I chose the digital medium for a reason...eat shit! hah!), I shall not elaborate just yet. The emotional dumping would have to wait for the the more private weekend browsing sessions.

Faith Restored to the Potter-rati

After a long time, had to work on a Saturday (for those who don't know how much I despise this...I really do!) and since my contribution to the goings on is usually limited to feedback and approval, that leaves me with a whole lotta time on hand to do nothing!
So I logged into a Harry Potter group that I faithfully subscribe to, to check out what was being discussed about Half Blood Prince- the latest of the HP series, amongst the HP sleauths (as we are proudly called ....how geeky does dat sound???).
(the keyword here is faithfully...I make it a point to log in and post as frequently as possible).
If you guys are fans or even inquisitive readers, you would not be unaware of the controversy, anger and disappointment that the last book generated. The death of our beloved Dumbledore, master and commander of the wonderful world of Hogwarts, caused utter devastation to the likes of me.
But lo! and behold!..it seems old Dumby might not be dead afterall. There are some really cool hypothesis being drawn based onreferences or hints that rowling has dropped here & there in the course of the previous five books. true or just speculation of some truly devastated hearts, the site does make for some interesting reading and much needed consolation...go check it out here at www.dumbledoreisnotdead.com and do come back and post...there's always time for some Potter talk!

With a li'l help from my friends...
Been a while since my last post...
Can't say have been busy with work... but a lot has happened and continues to happen on the personal front.
First, there's this brain-numbing, heart-wrenching "thing" that I "had" to and continue to deal with...and then the first thing spun out of proportion and consumed me entirely!
It's one thing to obsess about your 'should-have', 'could-have', 'would-have's'....but it's another thing altogether, to be stuck at a point in your life, that deep down you know, was not meant to last anyway...and somehow you just can't get past it.
and even though I can't see myself coming to terms with it anytime soon... I know it'll happen eventually...and when it does, it would be for good.
Till then ..."I get by with a li'l help from friends"...(Joe Cocker's version pls...)
Cheers!
Words
(No! No! No!...it's not a homage to Boyzone )
Just when I was itching to get another post out, a colleague happened to mention a blog which had a curious name. A particular post rather appealed to me, since I happen to have a slight interest in the written world, having studied a LOT of (or it seemed a lot, at the time)!
So anyway, this post was about favourite words... just like everyone has their favourite books, movies, bands, beers, abuses, obcene gestures, sexual positions.........(am sure you've got the point)
myfavouriteword.com is the website, that the aforementioned author refers to. The site enlists favourite words/phrases of past visitors and asks you to send in your favourite word with a brief description as to why it is so.
What's more is, ...if the site owners consider your entry to be truly interesting, it might get featured in a book they're planning to publish next year (did'nt say when), alongside favourite words of famous authors, playwrights, musicians politicians... et al.
My current list stands such:
Cincinnati: thats a very weird name for a city!
Raviolli, fondue, carpaccio, zucchini: foods I don't understand...and probably wont be experimenting with.
Ohio: I just love the way it makes the mouth& the jaw go a full circle.....and would probably seem like an exaggerated yawn or chew if you happen to look at the person sayng it from a distance.
Wallop: sounds like a character from the underground civilization of "Fraggle Rock" alongwith, Gobo, Ma Gorg, Dudo and Boober Fraggle. (remember watching those huge muppets with curly brownish blond hair on DD as kids??...)
Zulu, Zephyr, Yoda (yes, i am a fan) ......and i'm still adding ( though the site did say 'word'...as in singular)
Me thinks, next, there should be a site that enlists the weirdest (sounding) words ever......how's "sesquipedalian" for a start
(dont ask me what it means...I had to copy paste after failing to spell it right twice.)
Later!!
Ahoy!

Another one bites the dust.....or so would seem the case, as I join the ranks of millions (or was it billions at last count?) of like minded, word & thought, thrifty beings.
But before you begin exploring ways to rid the net of 'interactive geeks who set up blogs as (pseudo)intellectual scratchpads' lemme assure you....I have no intention of being one...!!
N, I know I am taking a huge liberty in saying this....but then, what the heck, thats what a blog is for, right?
So anyway, as the name suggests, this is going to be my nanospace on 'the net' where I get to express, discuss, debate, lash-out, conspire conspiracies, propogate propoganda and BITCH!
Now, I'm not one of those eager-beavers, so don't expect periodic updates. They're going to be as periodic as the Hailey's comet or any astronomical phenomena for that matter, but hopefully not as bad as my increments, which are even fewer and far between.
Enough said....so, as the brawny 'terminator' with (what seems like) facial paralysis once put it,....I'll be back....(to stack.....n attack!!!)
Cheers!
